PDI Inspector

We are looking for a dynamic and hardworking individual, to join our quality department in the role of Inspector.

The ideal candidate for the role must have a minimum of three years in the same or similar manufacturing environment and involvement in problem-solving techniques, and the ability to use programmes from the Microsoft office suite. In addition, strong communication skills and knowledge of BS EN ISO 9001 are essential, and the individual being familiar with current electrical/mechanical safety machinery and equipment standards.

It is key that the successful individual work flexibly, time efficiently, and with precise accuracy and attention to detail. In addition, the ability to read mechanical drawings for any apparent errors is advantageous.

Working for the Quality Manager, they will be responsible for ensuring that the product's performance, quality, and delivery remains high and is continuously improving to provide market-leading goods and services.

Ensuring Pre-Delivery inspection is carried out following the Drawing and Work instructions, recording and reporting non-conformances, working closely with production to improve vehicle quality

Goods coming into the factory need to be of acceptable quality. The relationship with the suppliers (both internal and external) needs to be carefully managed to ensure product flow and avoid downtime. This function needs to be coordinated, measured and improved upon following the needs of the business.
This role will also encompass the management and coordination of the Company's calibration of tooling in use. This is a very 'hands-on' position and will be heavily biased towards shop-floor activities. Accordingly, the role will be based within the Inspection area, Pre-Delivery Inspection and Goods inwards.

Main Tasks:

• Assisting the QM in the controlling of the Company's quality system
• Processing internal and external non-conformances Vehicle and incoming parts
• Documenting and collating the data for non-conformance reporting
• Liaising with production on non – conforming vehicles found at Pre-Delivery Inspection
• Liaising with suppliers on rejected goods and corrective actions
• Assisting the Lead Inspector with the conformity checks of Pre-Delivery Inspection and incoming goods
• Data entry of various inspection documentation (as required), i.e. Chassis Receiving Sheets, PDI Defect Sheets etc.
• Management of the Company's calibration records and ensuring the conformity of the tools on-site and in work vans/satellite premises
• Assisting with Internal Audits, as required
• Support Purchasing with the sample approval process, liaising with Engineering and completing the reports, as necessary
• Assist with Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI)
