Job Purpose:

To build and produce quality Kits and Sweepers for our customers and dealers, while ensuring that the methods used to complete a product are lean, efficient, and safe.

Main Tasks:

These duties may differ depending on what section an individual works in.

• To fit and assemble fabricated parts or subassemblies
• To be able to set up hydraulic and electrical systems including pressure testing
• To install Hydraulic and Pneumatic pipes and lines
• To install valves, pumps and motors
• To ensure the cable tying of hoses is completed neatly
• To complete electrical tasks such as laying, connecting and securing wiring looms
• To complete fault diagnosis and ensuring basic checks are complete on all electronic installs
• To be able to dismantle faulty assemblies and repair or replace defective parts
• To ensure accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies.
• To be able to understand and fit fixings, i.e. nuts and bolts, hydraulic adapters and fittings, electrical plugs and terminals
• To be able to use and adapt to air tools or socket sets
• To be able to lift and set large and awkward components
• To provide support with design/ development tasks through the use of Engineer change notes/BOM variances
• To support, offer and complete training with peers, trainees, and colleagues

Skills and Abilities:

• Served technical apprenticeship or equivalent training
• Good technical knowledge of the products, with a willingness to undertake training to expand knowledge
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly
• The ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
• Well-developed problem solving skills
• Good practical skills
• Be able to work accurately in a lean manner to ensure efficiencies of build
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good time management
• A good working knowledge of electrics, pneumatics and hydraulics

This role will be demanding and therefore requires a level of fitness from the individual; the individual will need to able to stand for long periods. The role requires working in confined spaces, sometimes climbing into chassis’ or laying underneath, all within H&S regulations. The individual may be required to lift heavy components, usually with the aid of lifting equipment.
