Mayor Dorothy Thornhill said: "The new vehicles look good and are highly visible so residents can see the work we are doing. These vehicles allow our street cleansing staff to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively and we hope that residents will notice the difference!"

The new vehicles mean that previously troublesome areas such as roundabouts, traffic islands, dual carriageways and one-way streets can now be cleaned mechanically with minimal use of a manual sweeper to finish the job.
