CEMENTING THE RELATIONSHIP
The Sevenoaks-based Verdant Group Plc recently re-affirmed their commitment to the Scarab brand during a visit by several key personnel to Scarab's head office in Marden, Kent. The visitors cited a number of factors as prime considerations in their selection of Scarab equipment. Chief among these were:

• Outstanding product performance
• Standards of customer care and product support that were "second to none" and
• Scarab's 'state-of-the-art' production facilities.

Although the group recently tried an alternative manufacturer's twin engined sweeper, they have now reverted to using Scarab equipment in the shape of the auxiliary-engined Mistral truck-mounted sweeper, which has not only reduced running costs (including fuel consumption) but is also proving to be a superior performer where it really matters - on the streets.

Scarab models are now operating to great effect on five of Verdant Group's current contracts: Arun, Chilton, High Wycombe, Melton and Mid-Bedfordshire. These machines range from the all-hydrostatic Minor (one of the most most versatile sweepers currently available) to the Mistral, the most recent addition to the Scarab range and one that is proving popular with both drivers and contract managers alike. With a wide-ranging specification and choice of body sizes, the Mistral is rapidly becoming Verdant's 'sweeper of choice' as it is with many other UK and overseas operators.

Scarab have always been acutely aware of the problem that operators face in striving to implement a 'green' policy while living with the demanding economic constraints imposed by their customers. The current Scarab range is proof that these objectives do not have to be incompatible.
