The continuing expansion of Scarab Sweepers was again recently highlighted by the introduction into the United Arab Emirates of Renault/Scarab combination specialist road sweeping vehicle designed for the arduous conditions unique to the sandy and dusty environment.

The Scarab Merlin Hydrostatic mounted on a Renault 12 GVW 220bhp sweeper chassis joined a number of Scarab heavy duty suction sweepers on various chassis recently supplied to the united Arab Emirates.

The increased suction performance and simplicity of operation over traditional twin engined road sweepers were important asepcts of choosing Scarab, but what was also deemed important was the reduction of exhaust emissions achieved by having the Scarab "single engine" principle.

Whilst fuel costs are considerably lower that Europe their is a determination by the operating municipalities to proactively combat against global warming by operating really fuel efficient vehicles with lower exhaust emissions.
