Scarab have been at “sixes and sevens” this year with a succession of multiple order for 6 and 7 units at a time.
Connaught Environmental Ltd have taken delivery of 7 machines, most of which have already entered service in the London Borough of Wandsworth after Connaught successfully won the contract at the start of 2006.
Hull City Council, a long standing Scarab user, have ordered a further 6 units for fleet replacement, including a number of High Discharge Scarab Minors. These recent Scarab Minors, with current Euro III engines and the latest Scarab CANbus electronics are the 7th generation of Scarab Minors to enter into service with Hull City Council.
Not to be out-done, Scarab distributors in Scotland, Applied Sweepers, have also been busy and secured orders for 7 Scarab Merlin Hydrostatic units for Fife Council. The tender was won following successful trials, management considerations and just as important, the views of the operators.
It’s not just local authorities that have been pinning their flags to the Scarab mast. Sims Milling, a specialist planing contractor from Kent, have placed orders for 7 Scarab Mistrals this year alone. The Scarab Mistral has already proved itself in the contractor field with features designed specifically for this type of operation, ensuring Scarab continue to win significant business in this sector.
The theme continues with a further half dozen Scarab Minors due to make their way over the Scottish Border in the New-Year when South Ayrshire Council take delivery of a fleet of machines under a contract hire from Applied Sweepers. These machines are the latest in replacements in this successful partnership which started in 1994.
