The Vale of Glamorgan now have six new Scarab road sweepers

The Vale of Glamorgan have just taken delivery of three new Scarab Merlin XP's all built on the popular 7.5 tonne DAF 45LF chassis. They will join three other Scarab's including another Merlin on a 12 ton chassis, a Scarab Mistral 15 ton dual sweep and a Scarab Azura compact. the Scarab vehicles have now replaced sweepers from another well known manufacture.

The Merlin's are all single engine hydrostatic sweepers which give excellent class payloads along with great performance and fantastic fuel efficiency thanks to the single engine concept as pioneered by Scarab over 20 years ago.

The new vehicles are fitted with additional driver aids such as a four camera recordable system from ISS, auto lube an onboard weighing system and teal hand wash units, one of the Merlin XP's also comes with a dual sweep and suction option.

The Sweepers are based at the Alps depot and at Barry where the hit comedy series Gavin and Stacey was filmed. This new Scarab fleet is no joke but is sure to be a big hit.
