Export Sales Manager

We are looking to recruit an Export Sales Manager to join our existing Sales team.

The successful candidate will provide account management to the assigned overseas territory and be responsible for all relationship management activities, from lead generation through close in respect to all export sales. They will work within the international sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation and long-term account goals.

Main Tasks:
Strategic:
  • Build up knowledge of the product and the range, the required services, the trends in the market
  • Create a good view on the competition, the benchmarks in the business, the pricing levels and the potential
  • Create new business ideas and initiatives to build a strong position in the market especially in relation to the sales of genuine parts and services
  • Build a strong network in the assigned area with business partners
Tactical:
  • Define dealer management plans for the short and medium term
  • Agree upon common goals and the required actions in exhibitions, training, demo-units and marketing support
  • Agree upon the level of customer support in line with the service values of company and develop a training and support plan to reach the ambition level
  • Work close with the colleagues and the factories in a matrix structure on the joint targets and projects
  • Good understanding of legal aspects of dealer related sales and contracts and the compliance guidelines
  • Manage budgets and KPI’s
Operational:
  • To manage client relationships through all phases of the sales cycle. Providing one-on-one and group sales presentations
  • To maintain contact with allocated clients to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
  • To identify and resolve client concerns
  • To react to all new sales enquiries, either by telephone or email, in a quick and efficient manner ensuring all enquiries and quotes are promptly followed up
  • To ensure that all provisional business and new enquiries are regularly chased
  • To track customer information, forecasts and reports. Developing and maintaining prospect and customer lists based on strategic marketing data and other sources for sales leads. Provide timely feedback to the Sales Director on performance
  • To maintain accurate records of all pricing, sales and activity reports
  • To prepare correspondence and reports for the Sales Director and other managers as required
  • To assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed
  • To prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made
  • To follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity
  • To assist the marketing and communications department in the development of sales materials and current product training
  • To participate in international marketing events such as seminars, trade shows and telemarketing events
  • To co-ordinate shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise with the Sales Logistic Manager
  • To prioritise and programme own workload, to ensure effective delivery to meet targets
Skills and Abilities:
  • High level of understanding of cultural differences and an empathetic way of dealing with these
  • Entrepreneur and initiator with the ability to convince and drive the team to achieve the goals
  • Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to analyse issues and identify practical solutions and translate these into well-substantiated proposals
  • Solid financial and economic background through education
  • Has demonstrable experience of working through an effective sales process in an international environment
  • A good understanding of a technical product suite, would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Team player with the ability to self-motivate and multi task and work independently
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image to the public.
